Where do I start...I guess I will start with last Thursday. Thursday afternoon Matt and his dad left for a 2 day tractor pull in Columbus, Ohio. Leaving us girls at home. Usually we would end up shopping or buying something (when the boss is away the mouse will play), but instead we just stayed home. Thursday night, Grace had dance class, so when we got home it was baths and bed time. Which Grace was really happy to be able to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed, since Dad was gone. Izabelle started coughing Thursday night, and it wasn't a clear your throat cough, more like a barking cough and of course she woke up at midnight and didn't go back to sleep until 2:30am.
So, when we woke up that morning she was still coughing and started to run a low grad temp. So, a quick call to the doctor, we dropped Grace off at preschool and off to the doctor's we went. The nurse practitioner saw Izabelle and said she had the Croup virus and gave us a prescription to take the next 3 days.
What a good start to the weekend without Daddy? So, after that we went to get Grace, fill the prescription and did a little bit of shopping, we were headed home for lunch and naps. The rest of Friday was just resting, playing, and movies. Friday night my mom and dad and cousin Jayce came over for a quick visit. My mom's uncle is in the hospital with a blood infection and pneumonia (please say a quick prayer for healing).
Saturday, we went to pick Jayce up and she watched the girls while I went to dance practice. Then I took her home, hoping that the car ride would put the girls fast to sleep. Well Grace was still wide awake and Izabelle fell asleep, but as soon as I pulled in the garage she was wide awake and wouldn't go back to sleep. At this point, I was really tired and ready for a nap, but that didn't happen. Which is fine. So, with Izabelle being sick, she really wanted mommy at her side the whole time. By time bedtime came around I was ready for much needed sleep.
Oh, Matt did pretty good on Friday at his tractor pull, came in 11th out of 100 some tractors in the pro stock category. He did go out of bounds with the other tractor, so he was disqualified:( Then Saturday he placed again in the super stock category:) He came in 3rd in the finals and got a plaque and money...GO Matt!!!
Matt got home Saturday night at midnight...I think. I was so dazed that I didn't even know he showed me his plaque. Poor thing thought I was mad at him.
Oh, did I mention that I needed my rest, because Sunday was the big day...My baptism.
Yup, Sunday was my baptism and three others. I know you all were praying for my nerves and I was okay, until I got up there and the mic went into my hands. My paper was shaking, my voice quivering, and I don't even know if anyone was able to really hear my testimony or not (I think I was more nervous Sunday, then at my wedding). But after all that was over (speaking portion), I felt a peace coming over me. Whew!!! Shawn then asked the group various questions, then the baptism (during this time, Shawn prayed for us and Chris poured water in his hands and Shawn released the water on top of our heads) The whole experience of its self was truly amazing. I felt so loved and blessed. Once everyone was finished, then Shawn had the congregation stand to welcome us as a member of the church.
If I missed something, I am truly sorry, I was in such awe, that I don't think I know everything that went on.
After church they had a receiving line, for the members to congratulate and welcome us to the church. I felt so loved and blessed to have all these wonderful people welcoming me, with open arms and love. Words can't express how I felt. I am glad to be part of such a wonderful family.
We headed home and I took somewhat of a nap (I ended up with a bad headache), then it was off to my parents house, this was my dad's weekend off, so we were able to visit longer than usual. Also, Amanda came up from Evansville to see us all. So, we couldn't resist the visit with her.
Until Next Time...
God Bless...
Jess
