Opening Season

Well tomorrow is "OPENING" hunting season. YIPPEE!!!! For all the wives out there I heard the "UUGGHHH":) So for the next couple of months, I will see my husband very little. Some say that is good and some say that is bad. Although, the hunting season pretty much starts another busy time in our lives. I am glad that Matt has something that he LOVES to do. Hopefully, I will be able to post a picture of him with a BIG BUCK on here (fingers crossed);)

Until Next Time...
God Bless:)

Rainy Day

Where to start...
I have made the decision to go back to my 3 days a week at work and the first week (which would of been 2 weeks ago) that I started my 3 days, was AWESOME!!!! I missed being with my girls those extra days. Just to be able to do WHATEVER we want to do. Here are some pictures that I took on a Friday, it happened to have rained that day, but after the rain was gone it left us some puddles to play in.

PUDDLES!!!!!

LET'S GET WET!!!!

I just need to sit for awhile.

Is my butt wet??

A Close Friend...

With some of the events that took place over the past couple of days, I have had such a heavy heart. I asked for those that read my blog to say prayers for Patrick Delaney and his family. Patrick went to meet our Almighty Father last Thursday. I know that his family and friends will need extra prayers during this time. I know that some of his family and friends are unable to be here due to their location or some unfortunate conflicts that won’t allow them to make it here. I pray that they are able to look to God for comfort and lean on him during this time.

As we see the family and friends grieve for their loved one, it reminds Matt and I what we went through 5 years ago, when we lost a very close friend to a car accident. It still is fresh in our minds (and always will)…Matt’s friend Robbie was driving home late one night with some of his friends. He was driving a friend’s truck because his truck was broke down and on the trailer that they were hauling during the time of the accident. He went around the corner and went off the side of the road, over corrected, and went into a tree. Robbie was killed upon impact, his friends sustain injuries, some more serious than others, but were able to make a full recovery.

We just had Gracie about 5 weeks prior and Matt was going to go to a tractor pull, but with being a new parent, he didn’t feel comfortable to leave me by myself for the night, so he decided not to go. So, Matt’s parents went to the pull and met up with Robbie and his parents.

Matt’s mom and dad came home that Sunday morning and came right over and told us the news. We were shocked…Could this be??? Are you sure??? What happened??? All those questions running through our minds…Matt and another friend left to go be with Robbie’s parents. The next couple of days seemed to play in slow motion…not knowing what to do. We were numb.

Matt and Robbie became friends through tractor pulling. I met Robbie sometime during our courtship. He was funny, outgoing, and much like Matt just a great guy all around. When Matt and I got married, he was one of our groomsmen and was so funny at the reception, climbing up on the table to dance, and getting Jake up there too. The next day, somehow, he knew all of our friends and their life story.

Matt and Robbie both were very similar in ways and not to mention both became parents within 2 weeks of each other. Robbie had a son about 2 weeks before Grace was born…we see Kody often (not as much as we would like due to him living a couple hours away), but Gracie and Kody will be life long friends…sometimes we joke that they will one day be married.

With our ever growing faith I have came to realize things like this happen…we might never know the reason for it, just that one day we will be with our Almighty Father and that he has a plan for us all.

God Bless...

Prayer Request

I feel motivated to write something today, but all the words I want to say are scrambling inside my mind that I don't know where to start. So, I am going to use this time to ask for some prayer request.

The first one for Patrick Delaney. He was in a motorcycle accident yesterday afternoon, leaving him in critical condition. So, please keep him and his family in your prayers that God is with them giving them strength and healing during this time.

Another prayer request for the families, friends, and volunteers that were involved first hand with the devestation of 9/11 as we embark on the 7th Anniversary of this tragedy. That God is with them during this time of remembrance.

God Bless...

My Observation

Okay, so I wanted to share with everyone what I observed last Sunday at church. After reading this, please don’t think I am some kind of weirdo that just stares at people in church…I don’t…it was only that one day and it was only for a minute, maybe two:)

I was sitting in church this past Sunday and got distracted with this soft giggle (I know…I know, I should be listening to the sermon), so I turned my head to see what was going on. And I saw this little girl sitting on her daddy’s lap and looking at him with the most sincere, joyous, with a smile (that just melts your heart) at her daddy. He was looking down at her with a big smile and was tickling her and she would let out a little giggle. Then she would give him a big hug, he’d smile.
I just sat there just watching for a moment, as my eyes were making their way back up to the front, I noticed another daddy with his baby girl, just holding her and cradling her staring down at her with a big smile on his face and she is just staring at her daddy. During this time, I could hear the sermon, but it was a soft whisper, as I was focused on life happening. I saw another new dad with this daughter and just holding her like she was this delicate flower, as she was staring at him. I started to look around the congregation to see how other people (dads) were interacting with their daughters/sons. It was amazing how everyone acts differently, but the same (if that makes sense). As I came back to my pew, I saw Matt had Gracie nestled under his arm (Izabelle is in the nursery).

I don’t know how they act when they are at home or at other places, but that particular Sunday, I was drawn to observe life. It was breathtaking just to sit back, and observe. I guess at that moment, I came to realize that children have it right. That they live in that “moment”, they don’t care what is happening in wherever, they have no worries, they just know what we teach them, they just know to LOVE. Why can’t I be more like that? Sometimes I get wrapped up in these little things that I forget to live in the moment and not worry about tomorrow or what happened yesterday. It is one of those “letting go” things I am still working on. I am glad that my girls are showing me more and more on how to do this.

P.S. Again, please don’t worry come next Sunday that I will be staring at you. I really do try to listen to the sermon; it was just one of those moments that I was drawn to observe.

Until next time…

Parties!!!

Friday night we celebrated Gracie's 5th birthday with a "pretend" slumber (basically a sleepover without the sleeping over part). She had a lot of fun. Her friends came with their sleeping bags, pillows, and in pajamas ready for the slumber party. This was Gracie's first slumber party, so she was excited and I believe that this was the first for most of the little girls, too. Jamie and Jennifer painted toes and fingers, while Matt and Joe went to get the pizza. We ate pizza, cupcakes, opened presents, they played, watched the new Disney Little Mermaid movie (in the dark), ate popcorn, and danced. The excitment the girls had just laying in their sleeping bags, waiting for the movie to start.

Gracie had two little girls that stayed after the party in hopes to spend the whole night, but for one little girl, she decided that she just needed to go home and sleep in her own bed. So, at 11pm I called her mommy. Maybe next time.

This is going to be an everlasting memory and I thank everyone that was part of it.
Gracie received all sorts of neat toys and we have been busy all weekend opening them up and playing with them, over and over again.

I will try to post pictures of the slumber party, when I get home tonight.

On Sunday, we had another birthday party for Gracie with her Nana and Papaw, Memaw and Papaw Jake, Aunt Tina, Uncle Jason, Tristan and Emily, Amanda (my brothers girlfriend), Aunt Kaycee and Adam, Aunt Greta, Uncle Rob, and Brynnlee. It was great to spend Sunday afternoon with everyone together. We enjoyed a great lunch (me being the cook, which is a treat in itself because I really don't cook much), cake with homemade ice cream, and then Gracie opened up more presents.
I have pictures of this day too.

Well, Monday we decided just to stay home and rest, but about noon Aunt Kaycee called and wanted to know if we wanted to go swimming, so off we went to the pool. Matt and the girls enjoyed the pool, while I just sat by and enjoyed their quality time together. We were there for about an hour, just enough time for Izabelle to get restless and wanting to go in the pool by herself. And I ended up wet and kind of a grouch, so we headed back home. Izabelle took a nap, Grace and I went to Wal-Mart to take things back. After that Matt went to the ball field to play softball with his softball team. Whew!!! Just go back and looking at the stuff we did this weekend, maybe tired all over again.
