One Full Day & New Family Member

I can't believe that the school year is approaching faster than I anticipated. So, I told Matt during the week that WE HAVE TO do something this weekend, Rain or Shine. So we thought that we would go to the Mesker Park Zoo in Evansville. We knew that the rain was in the forecast, but we thought if it was raining then we would go to the Childern's Musuem, then when the rain stopped head to the Zoo. As we heading out we saw the rain clouds approaching, so we just kept going. It was POURING the most of the way, but by time we got half way there the rain subsided and it started looking promising. When we got to the zoo the weather was nice, slightly cooler, but once we got going it quickly warmed up and turned into a really nice day.

We decided that the girls would prolly not like walking so we rented this nice ride. Thanks for my strong hubby for pushing it up, down, and back up all those hills. Bless his heart, he was pretty much sore by time we left the zoo.

After the zoo we headed to the mall to get a backpack and lunch box for Miss Grace. She was excited to pick it out, but before we got the those she did this:

That's right she got her ears peirced. We went in to see a toy Grace saw through the window and another little girl was in line to get hers done, so we thought (well I thought) this would be a great time for Grace to get hers done. But before she did it, she watched a teenage girl get her 2nd hole done, so she knew how it was done and the sound. She was afraid of the gun, so after all that she got up there and got ready and was nervous when they put the markers on her ear to mark the spot and then they were ready. She did cry, but only because one of the girl's glove got caught on the back of her earing. She has been showing EVERYONE that she got her ears pierced and happy she got it done. Oh, and she got the toy she went in there to see in the first place.

Now for more exciting news: We have a NEW FAMILY MEMBER. That's right we adopted the most adorable little guy.

Meet Gizmo...

Petsmart lets the local Humane Society use their facilities to showcase their dogs they have up for adoption. Went in to just look and saw this little guy and couldn't help but fall in love with him. He is a terrier mix...We think it kind of looks like Tramp off of Lady and Tramp, but only black. He is 2 years old and is really good with the girls, as I writing Izabelle is pulling on his legs. Poor guy! Matt is glad that he finally has a male in the house. He is a house dog, he shouldn't get any bigger, which I am glad. He has been really good about not making any messes in the house, which makes me REALLY Happy! So far we are all adjusting good with our new family member.

As you can see we had quite an EVENTFUL day Saturday...I am hoping to get our days I have off fun-packed before school starts.

I will post some more on what we did Friday...A day full of swimming with my cousin Lindsay and her kiddies.

FOR SALE

I decided that I really didn't need to 2 baby slings, so I have one of them for sale. I used this one the least of the 2, not because I didn't like it, I just liked the other one better. I am asking for $25. I still have the bag it came with it along with the instructions and a DVD. If you are interested please comment below and I will get back with you. I absolutely love these, but I really don't need 2 of them.

Vacation Bible School & Smores

Whew!!! We had a busy week last week. Sunday night we started Vacation Bible School at Providence, SonRock Kids Camp, it was in a camping theme. This is the second time for Grace to attend this camp, once with her babysitter in June, then again this week at our church, she enjoyed it both time, nothing like reinforcing the importance of Jesus Christ, uh? She wasn't the only one that got involved in VBS. Matt was part of recreation, which I believe his exact words to me was "Thanks for signing me up, I am having fun". Then I was part of the drama team that did a skit each night for the older kids. I had a blast playing a little girl nervous about going to camp and her grandma telling her all about camp when she was a camp counselor. I believe I cracked up each night about a dozen times and I think I made a few laugh after I fell of the stage one night and of course it was caught on tape. Blonde moment. Anywhoo!!!

Izabelle stayed in the nursery, she wasn't to fond of it when we would drop her off but once she got into swing of things she was fine and enjoyed it. She is now just bellowing "SonRock Kids Camp" at anytime, too funny.

Wedding & Prayers

This past weekend, we all headed up to Crawfordsville to Matt's cousin, Darrin's wedding. We left about 11 am, after we kept going back to the house, what can I say I forget alot. Once we were on the road. Izabelle quickly feel asleep and most of the way up there. Grace watched a movie, so by the time that was over it was time to stop and get a bite to eat at Mickey D's. The whole trip up there we ran into rain for the majority of the trip. By time we got to the reception hall to check up with Matt's mom it was pouring cats and dogs outside. We stayed there for awhile to help. Once everthing was taken care of we were off to the hotel to get ready for the wedding. We had to drop Jake and Patty back off at the reception hall so that they can light the candles and take care of any last minute detail. We then headed to the church. The nuptials were beautiful, the bride was beautiful, the groom was handsome, and it was wonderful to have a reminder of Matt and I pledged 7 years earlier. Here are some pictures of the evening.

Izabelle fell asleep on the way to the reception.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating this special event. By time we got back to the hotel we were ready for bed, but unfortunately Izabelle was wired and ready to party, so I rocked her in the recliner and before I knew it we were asleep and when I woke up to put her in the bed, we couldn't get up, the recliner slowly fell backwards and I couldn't get up, so I had to whisper (loudly) to get Matt to help us. The next morning when we went for breakfast, the word had already spread and everyone asked me if I had a nice ride last night. Ugh!!! But that is okay, because I beat that embarrassment on Tuesday when I fell off the stage (another story for another time)...Lol.

If you could take a moment and say a prayer for this beautiful bride and her family. Her dad has been battling cancer for a while now and he is close or is seeing our heavenly father. He wasn't able to walk his daughter on her wedding, they were able to broadcast it to his hospital room, so he was able to see her get married. I pray that her and her family find peace and comfort in our Heavenly father during this time. I pray that her dad is free of pain and peaceful.

Happy 7th Anniversary

Today we embark on a monumental moment, our 7th Anniversary. 7 years ago I wouldn't have thought that we would be at this moment in our lives. I knew we would be married but I wouldn't have guessed that we would be blessed with two beautiful, energtic little girls and still be like we were in high school...I still get butterflies when we go out on dates, we still hold hands while walking down the street or in the truck, he puts his arm around me at movies, and I still love the feel of it all.
This man I married has truly been a blessing in my life. He has been my rock when I didn't feel so strong. He has been my calmness when I didn't feel so calm. I thank God everyday for him.
In the past 7 years we have had some up and downs, mostly ups than downs. We were each others support during loss of loved ones. We grew to love (well accept) the things we don't so much like about one another. We are more in love with each other than the day we were married. I can't wait to walk beside this man for many more years. He is my best friend.

What We Have Been Up To

Last Friday (July 3rd), we met up with my parents, sister & her family at Boggs to watch their annual fireworks. It was a good time just to talk, play, and watch the kids get excited about kettle popcorn and glow sticks. Grace meant a new friend a little boy that was parked beside us with his family. They became good buddies within minutes. Weird how childern can become good friends within minutes, but as for adults it takes us a little longer, hmmm!!! Secrets that only children know. We saw a couple of people that we knew, some we haven't seen in awhile and our babysitter and her family. It's nice to see them outside of just picking up the girls and not getting a chance to just talk. Once the fireworks were over we headed home...the girls were tired:0 So, was I.

Saturday, we just layed around, it was just that type of day. We were excited about my aunt & uncles pool party, but with the rain it was cancelled, so we just went to do a little bit of catching up with them and my cousins. Then my sister & her family came over to our house for pizza and watch our neighbor and his new experment. It was fun to watch. They also let off some fireworks.

Sunday we went to church, came home to get the house cleaned for Small Groups we were hosting that night. While everyone was watching the video, I was downstairs keeping the kids busy and playing. At one point I was a teacher, then a student, then we decided to go on a mouse hunt, which was Hilarous. We sang "Ssssh, We're going on a Mouse Hunt, Mouse Hunt, Mouse Hunt" repeat. We went into the bathroom and I opened up the cabinet, jumped back and squealed and all the kids just jumped and screamed. And we all looked at each other and busted out laughing. They(I) had a blast looking for a pretend mouse.

I have some pictures of our weekend, but I haven't had to chance to download, so hopefully I can do that sometime this week.

On a side note, I have some friends that have been battling with worry/anxiety and dealing with this myself I wanted to let them know that they are NOT alone and it will get better.

Funny Girls

I will post later about our weekend, but I wanted to tell you a few funny stories of my funny girls.

I tell you what these girls crack me up...Last night, I thought we had a birthday party to go to, but mommy got the dates mixed up, but didn't realize it until we all got dolled up, well Grace got all dolled up. She had a pretty little outfit on, she brushed her hair, put a clip in and batted her eyelids. Oh, she looked sooo pretty. But within minutes of leaving she came back in my room with eyeshadow and glitter lipstick on. She thought she was some hot stuff!!! Then she decided to get her play cell phone out and pretend talk to whomever was on the other end. Matt came in and said "remind me not to allow her to have a cell phone". I guess she was ignoring her daddy when he asked her something. Oh Dear, it's already begun. Since the birthday party wasn't last night, we went to Matt's softball game and of course there was a BIG sand pile, so Grace's tomboy side came out and played until she was COVERED in sand. There goes the lil princess.
Oh, during the softball game, Izabelle kept saying that she had to go potty, but wouldn't go, because she was terrified off the public bathroom. She wanted to go out to Daddy's truck because she knows that we kept her travel potting in there. It wasn't until she was dancing round, squirming her little botty, jumping up, so we ran in there and FINALLY went. I think she is going to be nervous about going to the bathrooms she is not familiar with.

Speaking of Izabelle...Izabelle has been intrigued by the movement of #2. Yup, she reminds us that there is poop in the world. It started when my brother's puppy took a #2 on my mom's carpet and Izabelle pointed it out to me. Gross:p Then when we were taking a golf cart with Greta & her daughter when we saw a bunny rabbit a few steps away. Well B said "Poop", so Izabelle started to say "Bunny pooped" and continued to say that throughout the evening and even into the next morning. "Bunny pooped, Ranger (my brother's puppy) pooped", then started to name everyone in the family and said they pooped like it was a question, of course I said yes, so and so poops.
Before that we were at someone's house and someone didn't want to do anything, so Grace said that they were party poopers...Well that just made Izabelle's day, so now she says Party Pooper, Party Pooper.
