Once again, we have been keeping busy with things going on. About 2 weeks ago, Matt's cousin got married in a little chapel on the Hanover College. It was really beautiful and the scenery around the college was breathtaking. We got some cute pictures of the girls walking in the courtyard and of our little family. It was good to see Matt's mom's side of the family. They live a couple hours away and really don't see them much, unless it was an occasion like this (they all are a hoot when all of them are together).
A couple of days later, my uncle (my dad's brother in law) passed away. He was a really nice guy...him and his family always tried to make it every family event. We always saw them riding around in their golf cart (which they loved) or swinging on their swings at the Montgomery Park (that is usually were you find them). They loved to stay at their camper during the summer. My cousin, she loves the girls and everytime she sees them, loves to just hug them. I rarely see her brother, but it is always good to see him and know that he is doing okay. I just pray that they find comfort in God and knowing that their dad will always be with them and one day they will see him again (probably on golf cart).
While I was getting ready for the viewing, Gracie came in and asked what I was doing and I told her we were going to a viewing for my uncle, and she asked what that was. I tried to explain the best I could on what a viewing and a funeral was. I told her that when someone dies they go to Heaven to be with God and we go to the viewing to pay respects to them and their family. "Well", Gracie says, "All of God's children go to God when they die". It was like Duh, Mom...didn't you know that. I just beamed because her prospective is so true, we all go to God when we die.
I sometimes wish I had that fearlessness that she has, I sometimes think too logically and analyze about things and I actually should just know that God is there.
During this time, my dad had some kind of scare during the viewing that my mom took him to the ER...he said that his heartbeat was rapidly beating, he was clammy, sweating, she thought he might be having a heart attack. When they did some test, his results were good and that he didn't have a heart attack, just that his potassium levels were low and that was causing the problem. They kept him in ICU for two days just for observation and took a stress test the next day after he was released and that came back good, too. He had to take a week off from working, and I mean from any kind of work, which is really hard for my dad, because he has always worked really hard since he was a little kid. From working on the family farm, to having his own farm, and working at the coal mine, I think he needed that week to just relax.
The episode he had, I believe was anxiety (which I can relate too) and having low potassium levels that caused it. I just pray that he will continue to stay healthy.
I will update with some of the pictures from the wedding, when I get them edited.
Until then...Enjoy your day:)
